The war arc was kind of dragged out, but some of the best things shonen has to offer are in Shippuden. ![]() Now, if we're talking about Naruto+Shippuden, then it's a lot clearer that Naruto wins. Not sure how many of those were in base Naruto, though. By core I mean Naruto/Sasuke/Sakura, there are a lot of really good side characters in Naruto, and whenever they got an arc putting them in the spotlight the show felt a lot better in my opinion. ![]() That is despite the core cast of Naruto being less interesting than that of Bleach. Naruto had a lot of tearjerking moments, which I don't really recall many of in Bleach. I also think Naruto hit emotionally on a much higher level than Bleach. Even though I didn't like all the arcs of Naruto, they at least had diversity. This makes it very predictable and takes away all stakes. All of its story arcs are the exact same structurally. Outside the filler, however, Bleach suffers an issue of repetitiveness. ![]() Bleach also has a fair amount of filler, not all of which is terrible, but a big chunk of it is. I don't remember the exact number of episodes, but I'm pretty sure that the last 50% of it was filler I haven't even watched. If we're talking about only Naruto, excluding Shippuden, then there is too much filler for it to be good.
